We didn’t bolt a brake controller onto our range. We built one that talks to your security platform.
Most brake controllers are designed in isolation. They sit in your trailer or under your dash and do one thing — apply trailer brakes when you brake. They don’t have a closed-loop connection to the rest of your towing setup.
SafeTow pairs with your WiTi Anti-Theft Security System over an encrypted Wi-Fi link, inheriting everything that platform already knows about your trailer — the gyroscope, the sensors, the lighting circuits — and adding the towing intelligence layer on top. That’s why SafeTow can do things a standalone brake controller physically can’t.
One sensor. Two jobs. Zero duplication.
Other brake controllers carry their own 6-axis gyro sensor. SafeTow doesn’t need to. The sensor lives in your Anti-Theft device — already doing security detection — and SafeTow inherits the data over the same encrypted Wi-Fi link. The same 6-axis gyro that notifies you if a thief is trying to hitch or tow your van at 3am also activates Hill Descent Control when you’re feathering the brake pedal down a steep incline. One piece of hardware, two roles, no duplicate parts to fail or pay for. That’s engineering integrity.

Phone app. Apple CarPlay. Android Auto. That’s where most brake controllers are moving to. It works when everything’s calm and the road’s doing what it should. But towing doesn’t always give you calm. When sway hits, a descent gets steeper than expected, or you need to apply emergency override braking fast — the last thing you want is to be fumbling for your phone or scrolling to find the right app.
SafeTow is built on a dedicated 2.8” touchscreen — dash-mounted, single-purpose, always visible. Brake response stays on screen, in your eyeline and within arm’s reach every second you’re towing. Gain adjustment, mode selection, brake force — all one tap away, never hidden behind a tab. No swiping. No unlocking. No missed seconds.
Not Bluetooth. A closed, encrypted Wi-Fi network — built into the device.
Most wireless accessories in the towing space use Bluetooth. It’s convenient, but Bluetooth has real limitations — interference from other devices, limited data throughput, and connection drops at the worst possible moments.
SafeTow connects to the WiTi Anti-Theft Security System over a closed Wi-Fi network hosted directly on the device itself. There’s no internet connection involved, no router, no external dependency. The signal is encrypted end-to-end and stays local to your setup.
The practical result: a more stable connection, faster data transfer between the brake controller and the security system, and a range of 50–100 metres — meaning the controller stays paired from the cab whether you’re hitched up or walking around your rig at a campsite.

Hill Descent Control
Most brake controllers rely on inertia — the tow vehicle has to start braking quite hard before the controller does anything, which means the trailer can already be pushing you down a slope before correction kicks in. SafeTow doesn’t wait. As soon as the brake pedal is applied, its sensor detects the angle of descent in real time and increases trailer braking proportionally to how steep the descent is. A smooth, controlled descent without the trailer pushing the tow vehicle.
Brake Smoothing
Some brake controllers deliver the output signal to your trailer brakes instantaneously — which can cause grabbing, sharp jolts, and an unpleasant braking experience for both driver and passengers. SafeTow measures the output to the trailer’s electric brakes and smooths the signal — taking the harshness out of normal braking without softening genuine emergency response. The first time you tow with it, you’ll notice the absence of the jolt.

Most trailer tyre failures don’t happen because of a sudden blow-out. They happen because pressure has been dropping slowly for hundreds of kilometres and nobody noticed until the rubber separated.
SafeTow integrates tyre pressure monitoring into the brake controller itself. Live pressure readings for every tyre on your trailer or caravan, displayed on the dedicated dash screen alongside your brake response. Drop below the threshold and SafeTow alerts you immediately — through the same screen that’s already in your eyeline. No new app. No second display. No third subscription.

Levelling a caravan at the campsite is one of those jobs that can be a bit of mucking around — spirit level out, eyeballing it, adjusting one corner at a time. SafeTow’s Smart Levelling takes the guesswork out.
The same 6-axis gyro sensor that detects descent angle also measures your trailer’s lateral and longitudinal tilt the moment you arrive. Pull up at the campsite, switch SafeTow to Levelling Mode on the dash screen, and the system tells you exactly how much to raise each corner — and in which order. No more crawling under the van. No more arguing about whether the fridge is going to run or if you’re going to roll out of bed in the middle of the night.

Once your trailer has SafeTow paired to its Anti-Theft Security System, the controller itself is fully portable. USB in. Plug into any vehicle — your daily driver, your tow vehicle, your work ute, the borrowed Hilux for a weekend away — and the dedicated screen wakes up ready to go. No vehicle modifications. No specialist tools.
That makes SafeTow particularly useful for trailer hire fleets, caravan and trailer sharing, tradies running a fully set-up trade trailer that gets hitched to different vehicles, and anyone who tows with multiple vehicles. The brake controller can be simply moved between vehicles as the Anti-Theft System does all the braking smarts. USB ports are standard across all modern passenger vehicles.

Unlike systems that push automatic updates without asking, SafeTow keeps this a manual process — the choice to update is always yours.
Safety-critical firmware — manual install
New SafeTow firmware versions can be checked for via our website. You choose when to install. We don’t think a brake controller should make updates while you’re rounding a bend with three-plus tonnes behind you.
Brake control is one feature. SafeTow is a platform.
