The standard WiTi Anti-Theft System gives you complete theft and intrusion protection. The Anti-Theft System with Breakaway adds emergency braking to the same device — so if the trailer ever separates from the tow vehicle unexpectedly, the brakes are applied automatically to bring it safely to a controlled stop.
A single hardwired unit instead of two separate systems. Fewer points of failure, a cleaner installation, and the same WiTi platform integration as the standard version. Particularly important for heavier trailers 2,000 kg and above, where safety chains alone may struggle to control an uncoupled rig.

The WiTi Anti-Theft System with Breakaway combines caravan theft prevention, intrusion detection, and emergency trailer braking in a single device — hardwired into your trailer’s braking and lighting circuits.
Emergency Breakaway Braking
If your trailer uncouples from the tow vehicle, the Breakaway switch activates the Anti-Theft System to immediately engage the trailer brakes, bringing the rig to a controlled stop. Critical for heavier trailers 2,000 kg+ where safety chains alone can’t guarantee control. The 3.5 m pre-terminated lead connects directly to your existing Anti-Theft unit.
Electric Brake Lock on Towing Attempt
The 6-axis IMU inside the Anti-Theft System detects the pitch signature of an unauthorised hitch-up within milliseconds. The trailer brakes are applied immediately — locking the wheels and preventing towing. A thief can’t drag your van away. The brakes cycle every 30 seconds and repeat while motion is detected.
105dB Alarm & External Light Flash
Simultaneously with the brake lock, external lights on your caravan or trailer begin flashing and a 105-decibel horn sounds — louder than a chainsaw at close range. The alarm cycles off after 30 seconds, returns to monitoring mode, and repeats the full cycle if movement continues. Impossible to ignore. Impossible to hide.
Intrusion Detection
Independent of the towing detection, WiTi monitors your interior space and lockers via a PIR motion sensor and magnetic door switch. Open the doors without disarming, or trigger motion inside the van, and the full alarm fires instantly. Neither sensor depends on the other — if one is defeated, the other holds the line.
At 3:30am one Thursday morning, the alarm paid for itself when a young couple tried tampering with our van. He tried getting in the door without luck, she unplugged the power cord. At this point, the alarm activated and all the lights flashed. They legged it down the road. They won’t be coming back past our place in a hurry.
The moment the trailer separates, the brakes are already on.
The Breakaway switch is attached to the tow vehicle via a lanyard. Under normal towing, the switch is held in the armed position by the lanyard tension. If the trailer uncouples — whether from a hitch failure or safety chain snap — the lanyard pulls free, triggering the switch and instantly activating the Anti-Theft System to apply the electric trailer brakes.
No app. No cellular signal. No delay. The response is hardwired and instantaneous — exactly what’s needed when a trailer is separating at speed on a highway or descent.

The Anti-Theft System with Breakaway was designed with OEM manufacturers and professional installers in mind. The Breakaway switch ships pre-terminated on a 3.5 m hardwired lead with Deutsch connectors — plug it into the Anti-Theft System and the wiring is done. No crimping, no fabrication.
Wire the Anti-Theft System
Connect the Anti-Theft System to your trailer’s electric brake circuit, external lighting circuit, and 12V house battery supply.
Connect the Breakaway switch
Plug the pre-terminated 3.5 m Breakaway lead into the Deutsch connector on the Anti-Theft System. No additional wiring required.
Mount the switch and route the lanyard
Mount the Breakaway switch at the A-frame of the trailer. Route the lanyard to a secure attachment point on the tow vehicle.
Commission and test
Mount intrusion sensors, commission the system, and test both the Anti-Theft and Breakaway functions. Your system is live.
